Maria Carole: Daughters of Fire

"Daughters of Fire" tells the story of three fiery women searching for their share of love and place in the world. A soldier, a daughter, a mother. It is a powerful and warm story about love and the freedom of choice, asking whether one should settle for what has been given or not.

The novel presents a world in which there is room for love and friendship between women without guilt. "Daughters of Fire" places a sword in a woman's hand without hesitation but does not elevate anyone above the other besouce of their gender. Maria Carole's debut novel focuses on what is important in life, even when surrounded by turmoil. The worldbuilding in the book is elegant and subtle, and it pulls the reader to the center of events, into the characters' daily life.

"Strong and exquisite story about being a woman [...] full of small surprises and wisdom."
