Saara Henriksson

Saara Henriksson is a writer and editor living in Tampere, Finland. She has published four novels, one short story collection and four non-fiction books. Her latest work is the historical novel 'Princess of the Poor' (Kerjäläisprinsessa), published by Into in 2025. Her novel 'September Gods' (Syyskuun jumalat, Into 2017) was a nominee for the annual Kuvastaja Award for fantasy literature in Finland. Her earlier novels are 'Moby Doll' in 2011 and 'Linnunpaino' (Weight of the Bird) in 2012.
In addition to her fiction work, Henriksson has co-edited short story anthologies 'The Lion and the Lynx. Finnish Science Fiction and Fantasy Stories vol. 2', 'Huomenna tuulet voimistuvat', Finnish ecological science fiction with Erkka Leppänen in 2013, 'Never Stop. Finnish science Fiction and Fantasy Stories' in English (2017), 'Trollguld och andra berättelser' with Christine Thorel in Swedish (2018) and 'Siipisulka', an anthology of stories about angels in 2019.
Her non-fiction work includes a guide to ecological housekeeping (2014), personal finance (2018) and a book about lazy parenting (2023), all co-written with Aino-Maija Leinonen. She has published a guide to the Finnish book branch in 2021. She has also co-edited a writer's guide to science fiction and fantasy 'Kummallisen kirjoittajat' with Anne Leinonen and Irma Hirsjärvi in 2014.
